Memory Verse: Hebrews 11:1

Highlands will be starting an ESL class and a Spanish class after the New Year. Both will meet on Tuesday nights. Sign up with Israel (ESL) or Heather (SSL).

Our Winter Congregational Meeting is tonight at 6:00 p.m. We will be discussing the 2008 budget and Bob Borger’s call to Highlands.

Next Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. we will be having a farewell party for Pastor Bob and Jan. Please bring a main dish and a side and a bad joke in Bob’s honor.

Today is the last Christmas offering. Our wrapping party is on Dec. 16, directly after the service. We will be delivering gifts on Dec. 18.

There will be no Small Groups the Sunday before Christmas. Our Christmas Eve service is at 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24.

Our weekly budget is $3,300. Last week’s offering was $4,266. We are at 85.64% of budget in our giving to date. The four-week average is $2,472.

If there were a great treasure of gold and pearls accidentally found, and opened with such circumstances that all might have as much as they could gather; would not every one think it worth his while to make a business of gathering which it should last? But that treasure of divine knowledge, which is contained in the Scriptures, and is provided for every one to gather to himself as much of it as he can, is far more rich than any one of gold and pearls.
