The good news of Jesus Christ is primarily that Jesus has come to inaugurate the kingdom of God, to establish God’s good reign over all of creation. In the same way that Aslan drew near and brought springtime into the bitter winter of Narnia, Jesus has drawn near to bring the springtime of his redemption into the bitter winter of our fallen world. He died to pay the price for our rebellion and to free creation from Satan’s dominion. He will return one day to bring it all to completion and fully establish the kingdom of God.
